The University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a position in Social Genomics, beginning July 1, 2023. Social Genomics research integrates theories, data, and methods across the social, health, and genetic sciences. This position is one of three hiring opportunities in social genomics that included in a UW interdisciplinary cluster hiring initiative (https://facstaff.provost.wisc.edu/cluster-hiring-initiative/) designed to foster innovative, outstanding research programs that will stimulate productive interactions among faculty and students to integrate genetics, social science, and social policy research across the campus to create an interdisciplinary social genomics research community.
The successful candidate will have their tenure home in the Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics with a potential joint appointment in Sociology, Psychology, Population Health Sciences, or another related department.
Faculty hired under the cluster initiative will become affiliated with other departments, centers, and institutes as research interests overlap. These may include the departments of Population Health Sciences, Sociology, or Psychology; or the Center for the Demography of Health and Aging, the Center for Demography and Ecology, the Institute for Research on Poverty, the Waisman Center, and/or the Center for Human Genomics and Precision Medicine.
